Check Out This New Movie Trailer

Feb. 17th, 2007 | 08:42 am

It's a documentary about our friend, the late filmmaker Don Dohler: Blood, Boobs, and Beast

It also includes a lot about his last film, DEAD HUNT, that our friend Andrew Ely appeared in. Please note- our friend Joe Ripple, who did all the beautiful portrait photography we've been featuring on our site this past year, is featured in the trailer (he directed DEAD HUNT,) too, along with the lovely Leanna Chamish. (Though I would take particular exception with one of the comments made about Joe in the trailer, but this is perhaps not the best venue to discuss that.)

Anyway- check it out!

Our December Website is Up!

Dec. 6th, 2006 | 09:32 am

Hello everyone!

I wanted to let you all know that our website for December has been posted and there are lots of wonderful things for all our readers:

First, on the Menu Page we are very pleased to present a holiday poem by our friend Robert Thompson. It's entitled "A Visit from Naughty Claus," and I'm sure you'll find it as charming as we did.

At The Conclave, Crystal looks at some gift ideas in Crystal's Crypt, Spike rants about Hollywood stupidity (again!) in Sparks, Moira presents a story by a young writer friend in Wails from the Swale, and Grim tells us what's on his wish list at Raves from the Grave.

True Ghost Stories takes a look at one of the world's best-known ghostly tales. The 13 List looks back on 2006 and all the things we enjoyed. And The Family Album gives us a special year-end treat and presents Joe Ripple's portraits of our dear Grim Reaper. (They're excellent, folks, be sure to check them out.)

Thanks very much for making the freshman year of CreaturesEast.com such an excellent one. we wish you all a very happy holiday season, and much happiness in the coming year!

Welcome to The Patient Creatures at LiveJournal!

Oct. 6th, 2006 | 12:58 am

Hello, everyone, and welcome. Kuzibah here to kick off our very first post at myspace.com.
I invite everyone for whom this is an introduction to the Patient Creatures to visit our website. I'd also like to call your attention to a few special features.

First, I am very pleased to welcome Crystal Guillory to the Conclave. Crystal is a New Orleans native who now resides in Florida. She is the founder of the "New Orleans Worst Film Festival" and a long-time writer at the e-zine "Horror-Wood."

And while you're there, be sure to check out the rest of the writers at the Conclave, who all have updated for October.

I'd also like to announce our very first button set, featuring the likenesses of Grim, Moira, and Kuzibah on 1.5" pin-back buttons. The set is a limited edition, and is available for only $2 on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110041097331&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=001

And don't forget, our first appearance for October will be at The Halloween Opera in Jim Thorpe, PA, this Saturday (Oct. 7th.) Be sure to check our calendar for more.

Thanks, and be sure to "friend" us so you can keep up with the latest news!
